I must be losing it!

Three posts in one day?  Yeah, I may have to get myself checked out or something.  I just wanted to showcase a gift I got back on my b-day.  It really is the perfect gift.  Combining my love of everything bacon with my acute nerdness and rabid Invader Zim fandom.  It's Bacon Soap!

Celebration!

Well, maybe celebrations would be a little premature, but I feel something amazingly good is lurking just beyond the rainbow and is about to attack once it gets darker.  On a related note, a few days ago, I found even more proof that there IS a God and that he DOES love us.  Because they sell this at Maverick now:

Thank you Lord.  I knew I could count on you to make those Mexicans do something to make my day better.

now, on another related note, I saw this website that is absolutely fascinating.  Everyone who knows me well will attest I have a discerning taste regarding non-alcoholic beverages, so this could be quite a handy reference for me.

Tumbleweed just drifted by

Yep.  Not much happening today.  So, here's some good music:

Bad comparison

Well, it's tax time and that means you're gonna get bent over the hood of a car owned by that crazy and creepy uncle you used to think was cool when you were young.  I just hope I get my money back when 'Sam' is done with me this year.  That jerk.  Well, with any luck we can try to have an intervention come 2012.

Yeah, this guy really needs an intervention...

Slacker!

It's definitely bad if I don't post for a few days in a short amount of time, but is it bad that I don't answer my phone when certain people I like call me, because I know they actually have literally nothing to talk about?  Is it also bad that instead of blocking the numbers of people I don't like, I just assign them a silent ringer?  That way, they keep calling me, clinging on to the false hope that I wasn't near my phone, or that I was just busy.  Now, is it also bad that I sometimes tell some people that I'm busy in order to cut the call short, when I'm really just playing video games or watching a favorite show?  That, and how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?  The world may never know...

This is how sexisim stays strong today.

Please fasten your safety belts, keep your tray in an upright position, and tuck your head between your knees, because the heater vents are in open position!

Okay.  Gotta make something perfectly clear here.  I have made a point out of not dating anyone for years.  Not only have I not met any women that interested me enough, but most girls in general get on my nerves after a very short amount of time.  So imagine my surprise when things get all f-ed up the first time I thought I met a girl that was worth it.

Here's the story so far.  I have been interested in a certain girl for some time now.  Through no conscious will of my own, I really fell hard for this girl the day I met her (a very rare event for me indeed).  We had flirted around with each other quite a bit, we talked to each other a lot, I was around her a lot, and I really enjoyed her company.  It had gotten to the the point that I genuinely wanted to improve myself as a human being just by knowing her.

Social Experiments

A coworker saw me outside of work today and called out to me.  It's pretty unusual for someone to know my name, and I nearly hit the deck out of sheer reflex.  Needless to say, she was pretty amused by my reaction.

See, not too many people know my name; I prefer that to be privileged information.  Not even most of the people at my church know my name, and I'm always around those people.  The only reason my coworkers know it, is because it's a little hard to hide from those guys.

I think this stems from the fact that I like to conduct my own little social experiments, but so much so that it becomes a habit.  For example, I was at a party not too long ago in which I didn't know many of the people there.  I thought it would be fun to meet people and get enthusiastically into as many of their conversations as possible, but without revealing my name.  There was one girl in particular that was chatting me up, and kept asking me intermittently through our conversation what my name was, but I managed to avoid or simply change the subject.  I enjoyed the fact that it bugged her whenever she had to say, "guy with the hat!," or "yo jacket dude!," or "hey you!"  Yeah, that's my kind of humor.

Anyways getting back to my day today, I thought I was having a pretty crappy one, until I saw a sight that is pretty rare at the airport.  It wasn't in a flyable condition, but I still hadn't seen one in person before, so I was still exited to see it.  Double extra super secret mega ultra bonus points to anyone who knows what it's name is without looking it up:

made of fail

Why is it that there are only a small handful of people I know that I interact with on a regular basis that aren't complete whiskey tango foxtrots?  This is the primary reason I don't get out more often.

Oh, and on a related note, it happened again today.  Some jerk tried to set me up with their sister.  I think if someone does this again, I might just accept, so that I can completely offend the person to the point that it will never happen again.

Hobbies I kind of have

One thing I love to do is poke around abandoned areas.  Visiting ghost towns, doing some urban exploration, or just checking out that closed gas station on the side of the interstate.  It could just be my morbid curiosity mixing with my love of history, but it's something that gets me intrigued.  The only problem is that I live in a place that doesn't have a lot of abandoned urban locales, and being low on cash all the time, I can't drive to many ghost towns lately.  Thank goodness for the internet!  Here's a few of my favorite websites that satisfy that little urge to see some structural decay.

http://www.opacity.us/ - centered around the photography aspect of urban exp.

http://www.infiltration.org/abandoned.html  - with an emphasis on places you aren't allowed to be...

http://www.lostamerica.com/ - another photographer's website

http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/kiddofspeed/index.html - Elena Filatova's website. Somewhat controversial history and legality of what she's got.
http://www.abandoned-britain.com/  - for those across the pond

So, happy hunting and enjoy the sights!
